Figure Drawing, August 15, 2016

One of my all-time favorite models, Luc. He is a dancer, so he easily takes on interesting poses containing a sense of gesture. Also, he sometimes wears his white, flowing, dancing pants, which allow for other interesting lines and contrasts. Five fifteen minute poses. Conté pencil highlighted with conté crayon on toned pastel paper. 32.5 x 50 cm or 13 x 19 3/4 in.

And a few four minute poses – also well worth spotlighting but I only have one shot.35 x 50 cm. or 13 3/4 x 19 3/4 in.

One of the regular models, Ina from South America. Maybe Brazil? She is very friendly but not that creative in terms of her poses so I’m always glad if something can emerge from a session with her. In this case, the portraits capture a fairly good likeness. I decided to spotlighted one here simply because it is an interesting study using a cool blue conté crayon for the shadows and dark accents, which I don’t usually do. Three fifteen minute studies. Conté pencil highlighted with conté crayon on toned pastel paper. 32.5 x 50 cm or 13 x 19 3/4 in.

A few four minute poses. 35 x 50 cm. or 13 3/4 x 19 3/4 in.

A good model tonight. She took interesting poses that translated into a few good drawings.

Two fifteen minute studies, one above and one here below. Conté pencil highlighted with conté crayon pastel sticks on pastel paper. 332.5 x 50 cm or 13 x 19 3/4 in.

Two of the four minute poses. Conté crayon pencil on sketching paper. 35 x 50 cm. or 13 3/4 x 19 3/4 in.
